About the National Bishops Council of Pakistan

Founded in 2017, the National Bishops Council of Pakistan is a platform bringing together 100+ churches nationwide. While many of these churches are independent, they are united under the spiritual covering of our Council. Our aim is to foster unity among Christian leaders, strengthen churches, and serve communities with integrity and compassion.

A legacy of faith and service

Established in 2017 with a single mission

The National Bishops Council of Pakistan was established in 2017 with a single mission: to unite churches and serve communities across the country. Since its inception the Council has grown to encompass 100+ churches, becoming a unifying platform for Christian leaders and congregations, a true church council in Pakistan.

We operate 5 Maranatha Christian High Schools, offering tuition-free education to empower the next generation with knowledge and faith. Beyond education, we serve as advocates for the rights and protection of Christians in Pakistan, providing a calm and lawful voice in times of difficulty.

What the Council does

Four kinds of work, one body

The work of NBC Pakistan rests on the four pillars of its mission. Each is carried by the Bishops in their districts and by the member churches themselves.

Spiritual Fellowship & Leadership

A spiritual covering for pastors and church leaders: a network of mutual prayer, discipleship, honest counsel and collaboration, so that no leader in the Council serves alone.

Advocacy & Representation

A united voice for Christian communities in Pakistan: representing member churches before local and national authorities on religious freedom, education and social justice, calmly and within the law.

Education & Development

Five tuition-free Maranatha Christian High Schools and leadership training, giving children and church leaders access to quality, faith-based education across Pakistan.

Community Service

Beyond the church walls: ministries of mercy that care for the marginalised, support widows and orphans, and strengthen under-resourced communities in every district where the Council serves.

Leadership

How the Council is led

Our leadership comprises respected Bishops serving in various districts, tirelessly working to address the spiritual, educational and social needs of the Christian community. These men of God are not just leaders but pillars of strength for their communities, inspiring hope and fostering unity.

The Council office in Lahore coordinates the work of the Bishops, receives enquiries from churches and families, and keeps the schools, the advocacy work and the fellowship of member churches moving together.

Uniting churches, serving communities

Church unity in Pakistan is not a slogan for us; it is daily work. When Pakistani churches stand together they are stronger, safer and more fruitful, and their communities see the Gospel honoured. Praise the LORD for what He has built among us since 2017.
